37 Weeks

I am officially full term!  Now the weekly appointments start.
My face has started to break out really bad again, and my hips are starting to hurt.  But my belly button is still an innie with extra room.  Not much else to update on.

Weekends

This was the first weekend, true weekend, Jeff and I had in a very long time that we didn't have anywhere to be.  It was really nice.  And productive.  And I got to take a nap both days!  We are trying to make the most out of our last few baby-free weekends.
On Saturday we grocery shopped and did a few other errands.  Then that night we made cream cheese wontons, egg drop soup and pad see ew.  It was all really good, but I didn't take any pictures.
Then on Sunday we were productive and planted some seeds in the garden, hopefully something will come of that, but I am not being very positive about it right now.  Jeff also made this really awesome cinnamon sugar bread.
And for dinner on Sunday I made fried chicken, green beans, baked sweet potatoes and Jeff made some buttermilk biscuits.
And here is what the kitties did most of the weekend, lay in the baby's room.

36 weeks

Most people think it is a boy because of how I am carrying.  But we will see what happens.  Both Jeff and I realized we were not dead set on the girl name we have picked out so we are now scrambling for options.  We have a list of some that we like, but I think it is going to be a last minute decision after the kid makes its appearance if it ends up being a girl.
I have had this whole week off because of spring break and it had been pretty nice not having to be anywhere.
The cats really know that something is going to happen soon.  They are both being very needy lately.  Heath constantly wants to lay on me.  This morning Heath was laying next to me cuddled up and purring, while MJ was laying on top of me doing the same.  They were practically touching each other and they didn't care.  But it was really cute.
And yesterday afternoon he forced his way onto the chair so he could cuddle.

Baby's Room

So in preparing for a baby to be here soon, we finally got the second bedroom organized.  We took out the guest bed and rearranged everything so it looks just how I want it to.  My parents helped a lot with this.  They also brought out their really awesome vacuum and they vacuumed everything!  It is so nice having everything feel clean.  We also bought any missing baby items that were needed and washed everything.  All the clothes, blankets, sheets, etc.  It all got washed.  I am currently washing the cloth diapers.  Almost everything is done, which is a nice feeling.  I just have few more items to purchase and a few more things to do (pack hospital bag, get car seat inspected, put up co-sleeper) and everything will really be done.  The cats seem to think that we set up this room for them, surprise, surprise.  They keep wanting to lay in the crib, which I cannot always avoid, but it has a massive blanket over the crib so their hair won't get on the nice clean sheets.
But here are a few pictures of the room.

Shower

It has been a very busy few days.  My parents were here and helped me get everything baby related ready.  I will post more on that later.  But on Sunday my co-workers had a shower for me and my manager who is due this coming week.  It was really nice of them and I cannot believe the generosity of everyone.  Here are some pictures from it.

This is a nursery rhyme drawn out by a friends brother in law.  It is really awesome, and now has a frame and is hanging in the babies room.

On Sunday we also had to take some pictures with flat Stanley for Ms. Skylee.  And I will only post this one so that everyone can see Jeff's new haircut and how huge I look compared to him.

35 Weeks

Jeff was feeling left out in not getting to show his belly, so here it is.  Here is his non-changing stomach for the past 35 weeks.  So 35 weeks means there is only 35 days until my due date.  Discomfort is setting in.  My tailbone hurts a lot, it is really hard to get up from sitting.  And my nerve in my hip is starting to bother me.  Along with more back pain, foot pain, and stretching pain.  I had another appointment on Monday, I have officially gained 29 pounds since the beginning, that gives me 6 pounds and five weeks to stay in the limit, hopefully I can do it.  I have one more two week appointment and then it goes to one week appointments.  Had our first childbirth class on Saturday, I think it went well and was informative.  I don't think Jeff really knew what was going to happen, but now has a better idea and knows how to help in the process of labor.  I also got a nice massage during the class and those massages have kept going throughout the week.  The second and final one is this Saturday, where we also tour the maternity ward.  After the class there is going to be some haircuts involved.  Yes, that beautiful hair you see on the left is going to go bye-bye.  I finally got tired of him being called a girl and having white-trash hair.  It will still be longer than a normal male haircut but, not the length it is right now.  I think that is all for now.

No more TV

About a week ago we got rid of our cable TV.  This is the first time either of us has not had TV ever.  Kind of a crazy thought.  It is also crazy how easily you are sucked into TV every night.  We don't have an antenna or anything of that sort at the moment and who knows when it will happen.  It is not one of my priorities right now.  But it has been really nice not having TV.  I feel more productive, I actually get stuff done at night and we actually use our table to eat at (crazy I know).  I am pretty happy with our decision thus far, and I am sure it will pay off in the end with having to buckle down and focus on finishing up this semester before a little urchin decides to make its appearance in the world.
I feel like we are really starting to get back to the basics with life, which is nice.  We are currently making our own bread, yogurt, mayonnaise, mustard, kombucha, dish soap and laundry soap.  And as soon as we run out of bathroom soap and shampoo I will start making that stuff too.
And today I turn a quarter of a century old.  Crazy to think that almost 10 years ago Jeff and I started dating, a lot has happened since then and I am really looking forward to the future to come.

Suprise Shower

Yesterday at a monthly meeting I go to for environmental education graduate students I was surprised by a baby shower.  I was really taken aback that the group planned this and got me a gift.  They purchased the above item a babybrezza.  Not something that I had planned on buying but I am pretty excited to use it now.  It steams and purees food all in one thing!  I had planned on making my own baby food once we got to that stage but I was just going to use our blender.  But now this will make it even easier, that I won't have to steam the veggies myself, because this thing does it all for you.  Woohoo!  And they also brought lots of goodies to eat, such as chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting, yum.  I am still surprised by how generous people are when you are having a kid, it is crazy but nice.
The next two Saturdays we are taking a condensed childbirth class, which I am interested to see how that goes.
I only have three more shifts at work!
And I am turning 25 in a few days, a lot is happening.

33 Weeks

I feel that my hunger has finally subsided, which is good.  I am not constantly feeling ravenous and that when I get the chance I need to stuff my face with as much food as possible.
Sleep is getting worse, I keep waking up before my alarm along with many waking up periods in the night.  I would like to get as much sleep as possible now, but that doesn't seem to be in the plan.
I still cannot believe how little time is left.
