House living

In a few short weeks we will be moving to a rental home!  We are very excited about this because we have only ever lived in apartments together.  And that has been almost 5 years, crazy I know.  But we finally found a house to rent that is affordable and the right size.  It is about the same size as our current living situation but has a kitchen with more cabinet space and a yard.  The house faces the west and I don't know if I can wait much longer.  I am ready to move!  I don't think I have ever been this excited to move, I have already started packing up stuff.  My only complaint would be it has small closets, I have been spoiled in having large closets in all of our apartments.  But I can live with that, I just need to give away a lot of stuff that I really don't need/use.

The kitchen... has a window that looks out to the front yard, a full size oven ( yes we have a mini oven right now), a gas stove, a dishwasher and a pantry!

A washer and dryer in the "work room", on the right of the room is a door that leads to the fenced in backyard.

Living room with hardwood floors, it looks out to the front yard.  This I think will also be our dining area and office area.

Bathroom with natural light, I don't know what it is but I love taking a shower with the lights off and this only works when there is a window in the bathroom.  This is the first place we will be living that allows this luxury.  The bathtub also has jets, exciting.

Backyard.  Can you just see some tomato plants over in the left corner?  Well we already bought 4 and are planning on getting some basil, parsley and cilantro.  Hopefully our garden area will just continue to grow.  Also you can kind of see the patio and awning, we need to acquire a grill and some patio furniture so we can eat outside when it is nice.

And the front.  There is also a one car garage.  As you can see there is some work that needs to be done with this gardening space.  Mom, Mary can you please help?  Any good plants that are easy to take care of and last through the years?

So starting June 1st, this is our new living area, hope you can come visit!

  1. Oooooooooo, I'm so glad to see photos! Happy for you two! I'm afraid I don't know much about perennials, although if you give me enough time to think I might think of a bush type or two that would be hardy. Actually, a garden center there in Denver would be a lot more helpful than me! When do you plan to move in? I hope we can see it when we're there.
